Norwegian ROMMEGROT Recipe
GROT! As my Mom use to called it when we were kids growing up. This is a recipe (considered a dessert) her Mom use to make for her when she was little, and she passed it on to me. It was one of my favorite meals growing up.
1 pint thick whipping cream
1/2 cup flour(sift and measure)
1 pint hot milk.
Boil the cream 20 mins. in a heavy pan. Gradually add the flour, stirring constantly with a whisk. Remove some of the butter which will come to the top. Gradually add the hot milk. Then, serve warm in a bowl with cinnamon and sugar. Top with melted butter.
